For better or for worse, we managed to register for the demo that would take place on January 24, the day of the Union of the Romanian Principalities. With the help of the Phantom Robotics team, who opened the entry form a few days after closing, especially for us, we started to organize and see what we had left to do. Problems did not hesitate to arise, in the final weeks before the demo, with engineers and programmers working hard to try to complete the robot. Unfortunately, in addition to not being able to finish the robot, many members of our team caught colds, and because of this we were on the verge of giving up on going.
In the end we decided to go, thanks to the folks at Phantom Robotics who made sacrifices for us and reopened the form so we could sign up. Once there, we saw the 22 teams present being amazed by their mechanics and concepts for this competition. Throughout the day I analyzed the other robots, having the opportunity to learn new things from their activity but also from their possible mistakes in this demo. We made friends with new teams and at the same time, we did not hesitate to participate in the challenges and games organized that day.
In the end, this day turned out to be extremely interesting and beautiful, with our team very happy to have managed to get there despite all the problems encountered. Even though the image of the team may have decreased in the eyes of others due to the fact that we showed up without a robot less than a month before the regional, we did not regret at all that we decided to go in the end, this day remains for us still a wonderful experience, in which the values of the First Tech Challenge competition did not hesitate to make an appearance.
Cu bune, cu rele, am reușit să facem înscrierea la demo-ul care avea să se desfășoare pe 24 ianuarie, ziua Unirii Principatelor Române. Cu ajutorul echipei Phantom Robotics, care au deschis formularul de înscriere la câteva zile după închidere, special pentru noi, am început să ne organizăm și să vedem ce ne-a mai rămas de făcut. Problemele nu au ezitat să apară, în ultimele săptămâni înainte de demo, inginerii și programatorii lucrând din greu pentru a încerca să finalizeze robotul. Din păcate, pe lângă faptul că nu am reușit să finalizăm robotul, mulți membri ai echipei noastre au răcit, din această cauză fiind pe punctul de a renunța să mergem.
Până la urmă, am decis să mergem, datorită celor de la Phantom Robotics, care au făcut sacrificii pentru noi și au redeschis formularul ca să ne putem înscrie. Odată ajunși acolo, am văzut cele 22 de echipe prezente, fiind uimiți de mecanismele și conceptele lor pentru această competiție.
De-a lungul zilei am analizat ceilalți roboți, având ocazia de a învăța lucruri noi din activitatea lor, dar și din posibilele lor greșeli în cadrul acestui demo. Am legat prietenii cu noi echipe și totodată, nu am ezitat să participăm nici la challenge-urile și jocurile organizate în ziua respectivă.
Într-un final, această zi s-a dovedit a fi extrem de interesantă și de frumoasă, echipa noastră fiind foarte fericită că a reușit să ajungă acolo, în ciuda tuturor problemelor întâmpinate. Chiar dacă imaginea echipei poate a mai scăzut în ochii altora din cauză că ne-am prezentat fără robot cu mai puțin de o luna înainte de regională, nu am regretat absolut deloc că am decis până la urmă să mergem, această zi rămânând pentru noi încă o experiență minunată, în care valorile competiției First Tech Challenge nu au ezitat să își facă apariția.
