Event development / Desfășurarea evenimentului:
On February 13, 2023, I went to the Secondary School “G.E. Palade” Buzău to be able to present our team to a 6th grade class. The students were waiting for us with smiles on their faces and very excited.
From the beginning of the presentation, the children asked us many different questions, being curious and attentive all the time.
We started our activity with a brief presentation of the history of the team, about our departments, so the children already have information about which department they want to know more details about. Then followed a thorough disbelief related to the events organized by us so far. I explained to the children what the FTC competition means and what it means to us. Next I explained to them what a match consists of and what the robot’s mission is. We also showed them clips of our robot both in the robotics room, at testing, and in the field at the demos we attended.
We also had a smaller presentation robot with us, thus managing to better explain to the children what its composition is.
The children were very happy because they could see an example of the robot right in front of them, they all wanted to take a closer look. So our robot circulated among the bankers. At the end of it all, there was a session of questions, both from the children and from the teacher. Last but not least, we gave the students a small gift, consisting of stickers with the team logo and our mascot, Bob.
În data de 13 februarie 2023 am fost la Școala Gimnazială ”G.E. Palade” Buzău pentru a ne putea prezenta echipa la o clasa de a 6-a. Elevii ne-au așteptat cu zâmbetul pe buze și foarte entuziasmați.
Încă de la începutul prezentării, copiii ne-au pus multe întrebări diverse, fiind curioși și atenți tot timpul.
Ne-am început activitatea printr-o scurtă prezentare a istoricului echipei, despre departamentele nostre, astfel deja copiii având informații despre ce departament vor să afle mai multe detalii. A urmat apoi o descreiere amănunțită legată de evenimentele organizate de noi până acum. Le-am explicat copiilor ce înseamnă competiția FTC și ce reprezintă aceasta pentru noi. În continuare le-am explicat în ce constă un meci și care este misiunea robotului. Le-am arătat, de asemenea, clipuri cu robotul nostru atât în sala de robotică, la testări, cât și pe teren la demo-urile la care le am participat.
Cu noi am avut și un robot mai mic, de prezentare, astfel reușind să le explicâm mai bine copiilor care este alcătuirea lui.
Copiii au fost foarte fericiți pentru că au putut vedea un exemplu de robot chiar în fața lor, toți dorind să-l și analizeze mai de aproape. Așa că robotul nostru a circulat printre baănci. La sfârșit de tot, a urmat o sesiune de întrebări, atât din partea copiilor, cât și din partea profesoarei. Nu în ultimul rând, leam dăruit elevilor un mic cadou, constatând în stickere cu logo-ul echipei și cu mascota noastră, Bob.
