This event was our first activity within the “Break The Code” project.
The Park School is a project initiated by Buzău City Hall, in which a group of volunteers organizes a series of interactive activities for children almost every day during the summer.
Buzău City Hall offered us the opportunity to be present for 3 weeks, in Crâng Park, with our own robotics course. We responded affirmatively to the invitation, which is why in the last month of the summer we tried to attract as many children as possible in this field.
On Thursday, at 5:00 p.m., we arrived at Parcul Crâng, where we started to prepare the robot and the field. The children have already started to appear, more and more curious about what will happen. At 19:00 we started with a short presentation of the team, after which we invited the children to drive the team’s robot themselves, together with the engineering department. Another interesting activity was building mini-robots from lego. All this time, the Marketing&PR department dealt with our promotion in the community, but also with the face painting workshop, the favorite of the evening.
On Thursday, August 24, 2023, we arrived around 18:00 in Crâng Park, where I had the joy of already seeing some children who knew from last week that we would be there. Around 19:00 we started the activities. This time we didn’t have the boxes with lego pieces anymore, we mostly relied on the robot with which we presented ourselves at the competition. The kids were, as we expected, very excited to drive our robot. As the Marketing&PR department did not give up on the face painting workshop, the children did not hesitate and were very creative about what to paint on their faces.
On August 31, 2023, we arrived around 18:00 in Crâng Park and started to arrange the land and prepare the robot for the last week in which we participated in the “School in the Park”. This time, we tried to put more emphasis on the children’s personal knowledge, which is why we decided that the main activities would be: handling the robot, the face painting workshop and designing your own model of Bob, in different colors and poses. Thus, we managed to get to know as many children as possible, both from primary and secondary classes, which is why we consider that we have managed to spread the values of FIRST and attract children to the STEM field.
Acest eveniment a fost prima activitate a noastră din cadrul proiectului “Break The Code”.
Școala din Parc este un proiect inițiat de Primăria Buzău, în care un grup de voluntari organizează aproape zilnic, pe parcursul verii, o serie de activități interactive pentru copii.
Primăria Buzău ne-a oferit oportunitatea de a fi prezenți timp de 3 săptămâni, în Parcul Crâng, cu propriul nostru curs de robotică. Am răspuns afirmativ invitației, motiv pentru care în ultima lună a verii am încercat să atragem cât mai mulți copii în acest domeniu.
În ziua de joi, la 17:00 am ajuns în Parcul Crâng, unde am început să pregătim robotul și terenul. Deja au început să apară copiii, care mai de care mai curios în legătură cu ce o să se întâmple. La ora 19:00 am început cu o scurtă prezentare a echipei, după care am invitat copiii să conducă ei înșiși robotul echipei, alături de departamentul de inginerie. O altă activitate interesantă a fost și construirea unor mini-roboței din lego. În tot acest timp, departamentul de Marketing&PR s-a ocupat cu promovarea noastră în comunitate, dar și cu atelierul de face painting, preferatul serii.
Joi, 24 august 2023, am ajuns în jurul orei 18:00 în Parcul Crâng, unde am avut bucuria de a vedea deja câțiva copii care știau de săptămâna trecută că vom fi prezenți acolo. În jurul orei 19:00 am dat drumul activităților. De data aceasta nu am mai avut cutiile cu piesele lego, ne-am bazat maim ult pe robotul cu care ne-am prezentat la competiție. Copiii au fost, așa cum ne-am așteptat, foarte entuziasmați să conducă robotul nostru. Cum departamentul de Marketing&PR nu a renunțat la atelierul de face painting, copiii nu au ezitat și au fost foarte creative cu privire la ce să își picteze pe față.
Pe 31 august 2023, am ajuns în jurul orei 18:00 în Parcul Crâng și am început să aranjăm terenul și să pregătim robotul pentru ultima săptămână în care am participat la “Școala din parc”. De data aceasta, am încercat să punem mai mult accent pe cunoașterea personală a copiilor, motiv pentru care am decis ca principalele activități să fie: manevrarea robotului, atelierul de face painting și conceperea unui model propriu de Bob, în culori și ipostaze diferite. Astfel, am reușit să ne cunoaștem cu cât mai mulți copii, atât de la clasele primare, cât și de la clasele gimnaziale, motiv pentru care considerăm că am reușit să răspândim valorile FIRST și să atragem copiii in domeniul STEM.
