The “Robotics for all” project was born as a result of establishing our objective this year: the involvement in the community of people with disabilities. I made this decision after participating in the Night of European Researchers. During the event organized by the Buzău County Museum, there was an award ceremony for the Community Foundation scholarship holders, among whom is Alexandra S. from the program. She was the one who told us about the difficulties these people face, such as the fact that people with disabilities (of any kind) in this country are discriminated against in terms of accessibility, their problems and needs are not listened to.
Proiectul ”Robotica pentru toți” a luat naștere ca urmare a stabilirii obiectivului nostru de anul acesta: implicarea în comunitatea persoanelor cu dizabilități. Am luat această decizie în urma participării la Noaptea Cercetătorilor Europeni. În cadrul evenimentului organizat de Muzeul Județean Buzău a avut loc o premiere a bursierilor Fundației Comunitare, printre care se află și Alexandra S. de la programare. Ea a fost cea care ne-a povestit despre dificultățile cu care se confruntă aceste persoane, cum ar fi faptul că persoanele cu dizabilități (de orice natură) din această țară sunt discriminate din punct de vedere al accesibilității, problemele și nevoile lor nefiind ascultate.

În timpul unei sesiuni de brainstorming, am căutat idei pe care le putem pune în aplicare în vederea atingerii scopului nostru. Principalul obiectiv a fost colaborarea cu diferite organizații și ONG-uri. Astfel, am luat legătura cu conducerea Muzeului Județean și le-am propus să facem cu ajutorul imprimantei 3D plăcuțe informative despre exponate în limbajul Braille. Am descoperit în acest mod existența unei expoziții speciale destinate persoanelor cu deficiențe de vedere, Museum Box. În cadrul acestei expoziții, lucrările au fost replicate la o scară mai mică, astfel încât acestea să poată fi ținute în mână. Descrierile exponatelor au fost traduse în limbajul Braille și proiectate de membrii echipei noastre.
